Player Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) was released in March 2017 & in just duration of two years, it crossed its users’ numbers from 227 Million because of its uniqueness & attractive Graphics. This game gained much fame in a very shorter period of time across the globe in a very shorter period of time making it one of the most successful game in the history of gaming. This game broke its own records several times of highest users at a time. Today we will discuss the positive & negative effects of PUBG to better understand its impact on Human Beings.
Positive Side of PUBG
PUBG Game provides us with the opportunity to play as a single-player, in due or in the squad of 4 players which work as a team during the whole match. This situation provides players with the opportunity to coordinate with each other to reach a Common Goal (Chicken Dinner). This co-ordination training emphasizes the importance of teamwork in our daily life to get results either in our business, job or any other project where we have to coordinate with others to create a better result.
2-Improved Thinking & Decisions Making Skill.
This game is all about your mutual planning & its execution as it shows almost complete similarity with a war or operational zone where you have a very less time to make a choice about anything that you have faced. Decide in mini-seconds or you will be dead. This game improves our thinking skill when we make quick decisions regardless of their were successful or unsuccessful, we learn from them & we improve our-self.
Negative Side of PUBG
Regardless of its pros, this game carries a huge number of cons in it making it addictive & disturbing for its players. Here we will discuss the major cons that I observed during playing the game & after researching on its impact of people.
PUBG is all about violence. You landed, you took a weapon & you start killing players around you & when you have a chicken dinner, it gives you a false sense of pride & when you even come 2nd, 3rd or 4th, you get upset or angry & start getting psychologically affected.
2-False Sense of Achievement
PUBG revolves around “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” which is an achievement for those who survived as the last standing man or team in total 100 players of the match. This chicken dinner has no Spice or Taste in it. It is just a virtual term that makes us feel a sense of achievement that is even not real.
3-Missions & Objectives
PUBG challenges open weekly where players are given tasks to complete to improve their RP (Royal Pass) by giving them RP points as a reward on the completion of each mission. These missions may like killing 8 people with Fist or killing 26 people with a specific gun. (As I stated its all about violence)
It is just like alcohol or cigarette that we use to escape from our problems. Many people (especially Students) play PUBG to escape their responsibilities & stress that they get from study or assignments. PUBG Addiction leads us to many neurotic & psychotic disorders like epilepsy & depression. Many of students & youngsters play PUBG around 10 to 12 hours a day & they are badly effected by PUBG as we know that Excess of everything is bad.
PUBG is like E-Socializing where we make new friends but we only know them because of their good game playing skill. As we all know that PUBG is an Online game & a player can’t pause it (Exit & losing game progress is the only option) & a normal game consumes our 30 to 45 minutes of time so it is difficult for anyone to leave the game in between when our family or friend call us that’s why we become anti-social in our daily life. An average American teenager spends 4.5 hours to 7 hours playing PUNG Daily & they have no time left for family & friends.
6-Disrupted Sleeping Patterns.
PUBG Players are most Active during night time from 21:00 to 03:00 that led them sleep-deprived & poor quality of sleep. It not only affects their sleep but also their productivity & physical Health.
7-Poor Physical Health
Sitting at one place in one posture & staring on screen for a long time lead us to poor physical conditions & health problems like bones issues & eyesight weaknesses.
HOW TO OVERCOME THE HABIT OF PLAYING PUBG
This blog will be incomplete without suggestions & techniques to overcome the problems that many of us are facing due to PUBG Game so I have some tools for you to follow to complete to free yourself from its negative impact even not living PUBG Game.
1-Understanding the Excess of Everything is Bad Phenomena.
If we drink too much alcohol, it will affect our kidney, if we eat too much fast food, it will affect our stomach & belly. Like everything in excess, the excess of the game also led us to serious physiological & psychological problems so if we understand the importance of our body & soul, it will be their easier & first step in enjoying the game but not getting hunted from its negative energy.
2-The Productive Addiction
Addictions are bad but not always. For Example, you have an addiction to reading good books, will that be bad or okay? So instead of escaping from your problems via bad means, why not to choose good & productive means for escaping from problems. So choose some good addictions from bellow
3-Making Notes of TED-Talks.
4-Writing good content.
5-Starting a Passive Source of Income.
7-Focusing on your actual goal & vision of life.
8-writing a book.
9-Learning new skills from youtube
10-Educating yourself from courses on Coursera/ Udemy Etc.
You will keep finding low-quality purposes in different games so that you could stick to the game for a longer period unless you find your life purpose. A man with a bigger goal in life is more focused than a man with no goal or dream. A false sense of achievements like chicken dinner & RP Improving will give you nothing but a virtual success that only matters for a season of the game. So try making your own goals & start following them. Your goals can be like
1-Making a Lot of Money
2-Building a Company
3-Buying an Expensive Car
4-Joining a Government agency
6-Becoming a Doctor or Engineer
7-Opening a Social Welfare institution.
8-Becoming a Politician.
10-Making a Billion-dollar Empire.
4-Slowing it Down.
You can’t leave PUBG addiction overnight, you can replace it by slowing it down. For example, if you are playing PUBG for 8 hours a day, start cutting 20 minutes each day from this time that is destroying you. Start slowing it down & replace that free time with some good & productive things & I will recommend you to spend that time with your family & friends to reverse the effect of being anti-social.
Disclaimer: There are a lot of other games that work same like PUBG such as Fortnite, Freefire & call of duty & all have same consequences as of PUBG so avoid using war games, they have more cons than pros.
So, that all from my side, comment if you have more suggestions about handling PUBG addiction. we will appreciate it & will be thankful.
